SERP Tracking Depth
Important UpdateDear AccuRanker Customers,
As part of our commitment to delivering the most accurate and reliable SEO data, we are making an important update to how we track search engine results.
Due to recent Google updates, we will no longer track the Top 100 search results. Instead, AccuRanker will now track the first two pages (roughly 20 results) by default.
We understand that different strategies require different depths of tracking. That’s why we’re already working on a new solution that will allow you to define your own tracking depth — whether that’s Top 10, 20, 40, or more. This will give you greater flexibility and control, while ensuring data remains precise and aligned with Google’s latest changes.
SERP tracking is limited to Top 20.
Rankings beyond position 20 are no longer available at this time.
What’s coming soon
The ability to customize your ranking depth (Top 10, 20, 40, etc.) according to your needs.
Q: Why only 20 results?
Retrieving more results from Google requires pulling additional pages, and each extra page significantly increases costs. We’re working on solutions that balance depth and cost, so clients will have flexible options going forward.
Q: When will more than 20 results be available?
We are actively testing ways to extend beyond 20 results (e.g., 30–40 or more). Once we have a scalable and cost-efficient solution, we’ll roll it out.
Q: What will it cost to see more than 20 results?
We’re currently evaluating the extra cost of deeper result sets. As soon as we have clarity, we’ll share transparent pricing options with you.
Q: Will there be a price reduction since depth is limited?
No. The core product, data quality, and offering remain unchanged. The limitation is due to Google’s request structure, not a reduction in service.
Q: Why does the system still say “>100”?
For now, “>100” effectively means “>20.” We’ll update this label as soon as our full implementation plan is in place, to avoid confusion.
Q: How does this affect Average Rank and Share of Voice (SoV)?
It depends on your settings. By default, the Average Rank is calculated based only on the Top 20 results, while rankings beyond that are excluded.
In your account and domain settings, you can specify a different value to use for ranks beyond 20, allowing you to adjust calculations to suit your reporting needs.
We know this is a significant change, and we’re here to support you. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, our support team is ready to help.
Thank you for your continued trust in AccuRanker. Together, we’ll keep pushing the boundaries of accurate SEO insights.
